The starting dates of the new appointments are still being determined and will be shared as transition plans are developed. Names and final decisions regarding the territory of each of the new Archdeaconries are still under consideration and will be brought to the June Diocesan Council meeting by Bishop Todd. Suggestions for names can be sent to your Territorial Archdeacon or to Archdeacon Tanya Phibbs.

Bishop Todd is deeply thankful for the ministry of the archdeacons who will be stepping back from their territorial archdiaconal roles: the Venerable Janet Griffith Clarke, the Right Reverend Barry Clarke, the Venerable Kim Van Allen, and the Venerable Kristen Aikman. May God bless them as they serve God and the church in different ways.
Bishop Townshend has accepted the request of the Reverend Eleanor Caruana to retire as rector of Trinity, Cambridge effective August 31, 2022 with her last Sunday in the parish being July 29, 2022.
Eleanor was ordained a deacon January 21, 2001 and priested on May 1, 2001. She served the parishes of Church of the Good Shepherd, Woodstock and Christ Church, Huntingford and as the Diocesan Gift Planning and Stewardship Consultant before moving to the Diocese of Montreal. She returned to the Diocese of Huron and became the rector of Trinity, Cambridge.
In Huron, Eleanor also served on the Land and Property Committee, the Diocesan Court, the Synod Organizational Committee, the Finance and Administration Committee, the Motions Committee, the Golf Tournament Planning Committee and as the regional Dean of Oxford.
Eleanor will be honoured this summer with our other retirees.
Bishop Townshend announces that the following will be called to the Priesthood at a service of Ordination to be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, The Visit of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth at 7pm at St. Michael and All Angel’s Church, London.
The preacher will be the Venerable Sam Thomas. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being white.
Bishop Townshend announces that the following will be called to the Priesthood at a service of Ordination to be held on Saturday, June 4th, 2022, the Eve of Pentecost at 4pm at St. George’s, Owen Sound.
