INDUCTION

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Jane Humphreys will induct the Reverend Steven Maki as the Rector of Holy Trinity-St. Paul’s, Chatham, on the Feast of the Reign of Christ, Sunday, 24 November 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

The preacher will be Maya-Mele Okazaki. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being white. A reception will follow the service.

DECONSECRATION

Bishop Townshend will preside at a service of Deconsecration for the church of St. Columba, Waterloo, 250 Lincoln Road, Waterloo, ON at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, 24 November 2024.

APPOINTMENTS

Bishop Townshend appoints the Reverend Patrick Martin as Interim Priest-in-charge of St. John’s, Tillsonburg, effective 1 January 2025. At of that date, Patrick will have successfully completed his curacy.

Bishop Townshend announces that the Reverend Jamie Baxter, having successfully completed his curacy, is now the Rector of St James’, Wallaceburg and St James’, Port Lambton, effective 24 November 2024.

Bishop Townshend announces that the Reverend Dr. Craig Love, having successfully completed his curacy, is now the Rector of St Thomas the Apostle and St Luke’s, Cambridge, effective 17 November 2024.

Bishop Townshend announces the following interim appointments:

  • The Reverend Sharla Malliff, as Interim Priest-in-charge of St George’s of Forest Hill, Kitchener, effective 1 December 2024.

  • The Reverend Canon Christopher Pratt, as Interim Priest-in-charge of St James’, Cambridge, effective 1 December 2024.

Bishop Townshend appoints the Reverend Matthew Kieswetter as Regional Dean of Waterloo, effective 1 December 2024.

Matthew is the Rector of St Andrew’s Memorial Church, Kitchener.

ORDINATION

Bishop Townshend announces that the following will be called to the Presbyterate at a service of Ordination to be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, the Commemoration of Clement of Alexandria, Priest, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Church, Brantford.

Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being white.

  • The Rev’d Leah Arvidsson, Curate of the Parish of Long Point Bay

  • The Rev’d Barry Ferguson, Priest Assistant under the Direction of the Territorial Archdeacon of the North.
